Last week I got accepted into university. Friggin NUTS. And it was exactly a year since I arrived back into UK life. At the time I thought it was going to be a brief stop over to see friends and fam for a couple of months before I went back to living in Bali.. It's now been twelve..
As I've said before (broken record I know), life is full of some crazy unexpected twists and turns and you NEVER know what's gonna happen, it's one of the reasons I gave up trying to plan my life for more than a few months in advance, it seemed pointless. Life was constantly changing in ways I had no idea possible.
This past year has been a bit of a weird one. There are things I really wanted to do that I haven't, and I've done things I had never thought I would. I've had a lot of downs, but a lot of ups as well. I've been challenged, worked through some emotional shit, and dealt with some shitty situations. But I've also had the opportunity to reconnect with friends and family, strengthening relationships, and even making some new incredible connections with some beautiful souls, that I know will be in my life a long time. ♥️ I went back to college after 17 years since last being in education, did an access course in Psychology and retook Maths and English GCSE's, applied and was accepted to York St John university, and started my first ever pub job 🤣 This time last year I would never of believed any of that was about to happen. Especially the university part, and the fact this will be the longest commitment and long term plan I've made in a while 🥺 Scary.
Never have the belief that you can't do anything, no matter how old you are or where you are in life, physically or emotionally; and never believe that you're stuck, and you can't change whatever situation you're in. You never know what life has in store for you, the world can be pretty crazy, but pretty magical too. 💫
