Day 173 (27/100): A couple days ago, I went to play tennis with my dad and my endurance is SO MUCH BETTER. Here is the thing, I played this sport almost everyday from the time I was 8 years old until I was about 20. After that I stopped and now I only play once in a while with my family. In the past, it has been hard for me to enjoy going to hit balls. I get winded pretty quickly and as I result it becomes harder to play good and I get frustrated when I start making lots of mistakes. I would also take breaks every 5 minutes or so to get some water and rest, and I would look forward to finishing playing so I could rest and relax.
BUT, yesterday was a whole different story. We hit the ball for about 30 minutes, at 11am, in the middle of the summer in Florida, and I didn’t stop. Not once. Yes, I was hot. I could have probably drank some water and enjoy taking a break. But, I didn’t NEED it. I was able to focus on my swing, my shots and actually enjoy playing. And then it hit me… I actually still enjoy tennis 🤯. What I didn’t like was playing tennis while being out of shape. Or, trying to get in shape while playing tennis 😂. It’s so clear now. I have found a way to get in shape that motivates me, that’s fun, that I actually want to do. And not only do I get to start feeling stronger and being more confident, but now I also get to enjoy doing other physical activities thanks to that. There are so many positive ripple effects from me saying “yes” to becoming part of the #betterbabes wellness community.
