What a difference 12 years makes! In 2007 I visited Mogadishu and I was met by a very small airport, where my plane was the only one in sight.
Today, the outlook is much different! The airport is one of many places where you can truly see the developments made by the local people, who have worked tirelessly to improve the levels of transport in and out of the country, to the point where Somalia now has one of the busiest airspaces in all of Africa and is the fastest growing airport over the last 12 years.
In recent years we have been very proud of the first ever commercial arrival from Turkish, Kenyan and Ethiopian Airlines as well as Qatar Airways and local Somalian airlines.
These are all amazing signs of growth that show just how hard we are all working to bring Somalia back to the country it used to be and it makes me very proud to be supporting this.
What exciting new development will arrive next?
