This week’s challenge is a mouthful, but it’s worth it: “Look for opportunities to help others while going about your day.” We bet for most of us, we see someone every day that could use a bit of help. Just the other day, one of your TPR founders saw a stranger trying to start his car. Frustrated, he put his head on the steering wheel–the universal sign of defeat. I asked him if he needed a jump-start, and he said, no, he was out of gas and late for work at Ben & Jerry’s. He had one of those red plastic gas jugs–empty. I took the jug, drove to the nearest gas station, filled it up, and helped him pour the gas into his car. He said I was like a guardian angel. I demurred and said I’m sure he would have done the same for me. I also thanked him for giving me the opportunity to help another human being. As he left, he told me he “would totally hook me up” next time I visited Ben & Jerry’s. We laughed and I told him all I ask is that he visit the TPR website and accept a Challenge; he assured me he would. Our sense is these types of opportunities happen all the time. Let’s see if we can keep the kindness momentum building!
